Cynthia J. Campbell Under Cynthia’s leadership, the ASC’s Enforcement division is responsible for protecting investors and the integrity of the Alberta capital market by deterring market misconduct through prompt, fair and visible enforcement action. The Enforcement division detects, disrupts, investigates and prosecutes administrative and quasi-criminal breaches of the Securities Act and, in partnership with the RCMP, investigates serious securities-related criminal offences. Prior to joining the ASC in 2014, Cynthia was Associate General Counsel, Litigation and Administrative Law at Alberta Health Services where she provided strategic counsel on litigation matters and administrative law and regulatory proceedings in connection with hearings, judicial review applications and quasi-criminal prosecutions. Previously, Cynthia was legal counsel for the Calgary Police Service (CPS), where she advised on labour, employment, human rights and administrative law matters. Cynthia holds an LL.B. and a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Ottawa. In 1997-98, she clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada for the Honourable Mr. Justice J.C. Major. |

Grant Fagerheim Grant is President and Chief Executive Officer of Whitecap Resources Inc., a position he has held since 2009. He also currently serves on the board of Advantage Oil & Gas Ltd., a TSX publicly-traded company. He has worked in both the Canadian upstream and downstream segments of the energy industry. Founder of Ketch Energy Ltd., Ketch Resources Ltd., Kereco Energy Ltd. (Cadence) and Whitecap Resources Inc. His past directorships include both public and private energy companies and an energy service company. Mr. Fagerheim is an active member in the community in both volunteer and charity roles and has a passion for combining academics with athletics. He has served as Chairman of the Edge School for Athletes in Calgary. He has been a director of the Hockey Canada Foundation since January 2008, has served as Chairman of the Foundation and was also a member of the Order of Hockey Canada executive committee. In recognition for his contributions to Canada to date Mr. Fagerheim was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal created in 2012 to honour the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. |

Sandi Gilbert Sandi is involved with several ventures focused on supporting entrepreneurs as they navigate through start-up to scale-up. She is the founder of Crowd Capital, the fintech company behind DealPoint, a SaaS technology that securely automates the execution of private placements in a compliant and efficient manner. She leads InterGen Connect, a not-for-profit that matches expert retired and transitioning business talent with scaling companies exiting the start-up phase and she is the Executive Partner of InterGen Capital, a private venture fund that invests into innovation driven companies that are positioned to rapidly scale their businesses. Sandi is also the Chair of NACO, Canada's community of angels, incubators and accelerators. |

Tom Graham Tom is the Director, Corporate Finance of the Alberta Securities Commission and manages a team of accountants, lawyers, geologists, engineers and other professionals. In this role, he oversees the regulatory framework for securities offerings, compliance, and policy development. Prior to joining the ASC in 2006, Tom was the Director, Listings at the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). At the TSX, Tom was responsible for the application of the TSX Corporate Finance Rules and Listing requirements, as well as overseeing the TSX Listings Committee. Tom has also held progressive positions with the TSX Venture Exchange (and predecessor Alberta Stock Exchange), Ernst & Young and Coopers Lybrand, which included a secondment to the ASC. Tom is a graduate of the University of Calgary and a member of the CPA. |

Matthew Greiner Matthew is an Assistant Director in the SEC’s Office of International Affairs. In this capacity, he manages a team that assists and advises the SEC’s Division of Enforcement and other U.S. regulatory and law enforcement authorities in obtaining documents, testimony, asset freezes, or other assistance abroad. Mr. Greiner also oversees reciprocal assistance to foreign regulatory and law enforcement authorities. Mr. Greiner has primary responsibility for matters relating to North America, the Caribbean, Asia, and the Middle East. Prior to joining OIA, Mr. Greiner served in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement for over 13 years, where he conducted over thirty investigations and filed over forty Enforcement cases including matters involving accounting fraud, insider trading, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, offering fraud, and broker-dealer/investment advisor regulatory compliance. Representative filed enforcement actions include matters include: Royal Ahold, Tyco FCPA, Cendant, and AnchorBank. Mr. Greiner litigated administrative and civil cases on behalf of the SEC and also served as a Special Assistant U. S. Attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia. Prior to government service, Mr. Greiner was a commercial litigator in private practice. Mr. Greiner received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University. |

Laura Kilcrease Laura leads Alberta Innovates as its Chief Executive Officer. Recruited from Austin, Texas, she is recognized as a significant motivator in shaping Austin’s economic revitalization. Laura influenced the creation of the Austin Technology Council and founded the Austin Technology Incubator, where companies have raised over $3 billion to date. With over 25 years’ experience in commercializing technology, Ms. Kilcrease is sharing her enthusiasm and entrepreneurial expertise to create innovation coalitions that leverage the talent and spirit of Alberta. Prior to becoming Alberta Innovates’ CEO, Laura was a seven-year member of the Alberta Research and Innovation Advisory Committee. Born in London, Laura received her Chartered Management Accountant certification in the U.K. and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Texas. |

David Linder David is Chief of Staff and Chief Administrative Officer of the ASC, overseeing virtually all Commission operations. David has played a very active role in the Canadian Securities Administrators’ Executive Directors’ Committee, including being the Chair of that Committee from September 2003 to December 2006, and was again appointed to that position in September 2014, a role he continues in. He also is the Chair of the CSA Systems Governance Committee, the group that oversees the CSA Information Technology Systems. Prior to joining the ASC, David was a partner with the law firm Parlee McLaws in Calgary, conducting a practice in corporate and securities law and litigation. During his practice, he was retained on a variety of corporate reorganizations and financings representing private and public issuers. David is a graduate of the University of Calgary Law School and has been actively involved in the interaction between the legal and university communities, teaching Business Law at the University of Calgary, serving on the Law Faculty Council and being a representative of the profession on the Faculty of Law Dean Selection Committee. |

Stan Magidson Stan possesses extensive experience in corporate governance and securities law and regulation. Before joining the ASC in July 2016, he was President, CEO and Director of the Institute of Corporate Directors and Chair of the Global Network of Director Institutes. Prior, Stan was a partner for 21 years with a national law firm in the business law group where he advised corporate issuers, investors, financial intermediaries and boards of directors across the country on securities law, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance matters. Stan currently serves on the international board of the Weizmann Institute of Science and the board of Weizmann Canada. Stan holds an LL.M in Corporate Law from New York University and an LL.B from the University of Ottawa. |

Cheryl McGillivray Cheryl is a member of the Alberta Securities Commission’s management team She leads a team of securities analysts in the Corporate Finance division, the primary interface for public companies and their advisors when participating in the capital market in Alberta. Cheryl’s team is responsible for the reviews of continuous disclosure filings and prospectuses for Alberta reporting issuers to ensure high-quality information is provided to investors. Her team also reviews relief applications and advances policy work and other CSA initiatives. Cheryl is a senior-level contributor to several significant Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) projects. Currently she co-leads the CSA climate change-related risk disclosure project and the reducing regulatory burden project on continuous disclosures and is a member of the project relating to women on boards and executive officer positions. Cheryl is also the CSA representative on the Securities Regulation Advisory Group to the Canadian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board. Prior to joining the ASC, in addition to practicing at a large audit firm, Cheryl held senior financial management roles for more than 18 years in a variety of public and private industries, including insurance, real estate and health. |

Rex Murphy Social commentator, Editorialist, National Post Canadians are treated to Rex’s Saturday column in the National Post and previously enjoyed his weekly commentary on CBC’s The National. He has also acted as an editorial contributor to CBC Radio’s Definitely Not the Opera. For over 20 years he was the host and moderator of CBC Radio’s Cross Country Checkup. The show brought over one million listeners and at times 15,000 callers wanting to join in discussions. Audiences can expect to be simultaneously informed and entertained by Rex’s provocative commentary. He knows what makes Canadians tick, and what drives our political and social affairs. Rex makes us important and reminds us we have culture beyond hockey. His thought-provoking, sometimes stinging commentary and original insights are delivered through a vocabulary to make Webster’s consider updating. A Rhodes Scholar, Rex was born and raised in St. John’s, Nfld., where he graduated from Memorial University. He went to Oxford University, along with former U.S. President Bill Clinton. Rex later ran twice in provincial elections and lost both times. |

Charlene O'Neill Inspector, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Inspector Charlene O’Neill is the Officer in Charge of the RCMP Calgary Financial Crime Unit. Charlene was born and raised in New Brunswick and has been with the RCMP for over 18 years. She has policed in three provinces in both Provincial Contract and Federal Policing units. Her first posting was in Inverness, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia where she performed general duty policing. She then transferred to Toronto, Ontario where she worked in Federal Policing in the areas of National Security and Proceeds of Crime. In 2012 she transferred to Edmonton, Alberta working in various Units such as Commercial Crime, Human Trafficking, Proceeds of Crime and Drugs and Organized Crime. In August 2018 Charlene was commissioned to the Officer rank and moved to Calgary to her current position which includes being in charge of the Calgary Integrated Market Enforcement Team. |

Peter Tertzakian Peter is the Executive Director of ARC Energy Research Institute. He is an economist, investment strategist, advisor, author podcaster and public speaker on issues vital to the future of energy and Canada’s role in meeting evolving energy demand. With over 30 years of experience, his holistic knowledge of physics, innovation, finance and economics allows him to give audiences thought provoking advice on how to think about pressing issues on the transition to sustainable energy solutions. An accomplished author, Peter’s two best-selling books, A Thousand Barrels a Second (McGraw-Hill, NY 2005) and The End of Energy Obesity (John Wiley & Sons, NY 2009) provide insight into the dynamic world of energy transitions through a thoughtful and highly readable examination of economic, environmental and geopolitical pressures. In 2015 Peter was seconded to the four-person Royalty Review Panel for the province of Alberta – the world’s 8th largest producer of oil and gas – where he led the redesign of the fiscal policy. In 2016 Peter was inducted into the Alberta Petroleum Hall of Fame. |

Denise Weeres Denise works closely with staff from across the ASC to coordinate efforts to facilitate capital raising by Alberta businesses as well as to anticipate and act on issues and opportunities relating to emerging financial technologies. As part of that role she coordinates the ASC’s efforts in relation to the CSA Regulatory Sandbox and is engaged with efforts to assess securities regulatory enhancements that can assist access to capital for business while still protecting investors. Denise’s prior experience includes Manager, Legal, Corporate Finance at the ASC, General Counsel to an E&P oil sands company during and after its going-public process on the TSX, Manager, Corporate Finance Policy at the predecessor to the TSX Venture Exchange as well as practising corporate and securities law in Calgary and Vancouver, acting on behalf of both large and small issuers and investment dealers in relation to various public and private financings and M&A transactions. Denise holds an LL.B from the University of Alberta. |

Kristina Williams Prior to joining Alberta Enterprise, Kristina worked for several technology companies where her responsibilities spanned the spectrum of legal, regulatory, international and new business development, corporate strategic planning, intellectual property management, as well as marketing and sales. At Alberta Enterprise Kristina has lead several of the corporation’s investments. In 2014 she was named the President and CEO, and she now oversees the management of the Alberta Enterprise Fund. Kristina currently sits on several Limited Partnership Advisory Boards of Alberta Enterprise’s VC funds. She is a member of the TEC Edmonton Board of Directors, she is an Associate with Creative Destruction Lab – Rockies, and she has been a member of the Edmonton Health City Steering Group where she led the finance working group. Kristina holds an MBA from the University of Alberta, a Master of Laws from the University of Uppsala, accreditation for the Venture Capital Executive Program from the University of California, Berkeley – Walter A. Haas School of Business, and an ICD.D from the ICD-Rotman Director Education Program. |
