On Tuesday, October 9, 2018 the second annual ASC Connect brought together over 300 market participants to discuss the critical issues and trends affecting the capital markets. The conference included a full day of informative and interactive plenary sessions led by senior ASC leaders and industry experts, with a range of topics from our expanding enforcement toolbox to how technology is driving change in the capital markets.
Distinguished guest, Gordon Giffin, former U.S. Ambassador to Canada, provided a timely address on the state of Canada’s relationship with the U.S. on the heels of the new NAFTA (USMCA) agreement.
ASC Connect also featured Adam Felesky, CEO of Portag3 Ventures, as a panelist for Transformational Technologies: Diversification and innovation in Canada’s capital markets. Adam, alongside Denise Weeres, the ASC’s Director, New Economy, discussed the newest technologies and their effect on the Alberta capital market.
