Investor Calling Program
The ASC Enforcement division is currently carrying out a telephone campaign with Alberta investors.
The ASC Enforcement team investigates misleading and fraudulent investment activities that target Albertans. We are currently in the process of calling Alberta investors who we believe have recently sent funds to unregistered investment products that operate in foreign jurisdictions.
We are calling these investors to understand if our information is correct. This input is integral to the ASC’s ongoing efforts to protect investors and disrupt potentially fraudulent activities that harm Albertans. The ASC does not require investors to provide any additional information about personal finances over the phone.
The information gathered will be kept in confidence to the extent permitted by law. We will not provide the information we gather to anyone outside of the ASC except as permitted by law or necessary to assess compliance with securities laws.
